Why Saturday at noon is the sweet spot

The India Pavilion at Carassauga is one of the busiest rooms in Mississauga every spring, and the classic first-timer mistake is arriving at 4 pm on Saturday and trying to do everything at once. Doors open at noon, the dhol welcome sets the tone, and the food court lines are shortest in that first hour. Eat first, then let the main stage warm up while you wander.

Sort your passport before you leave home

Your Carassauga Passport covers every pavilion in the city for the whole weekend, and it rides MiWay and the festival shuttles free during festival hours. Buy it online at carassauga.com to skip the door line. Children 12 and under are free when they come in with an adult passport holder.

Your Saturday, hour by hour
The plan we give our own families. Times follow the sample schedule on the Festival page; the 2027 lineup is confirmed in spring.

12:30Eat first

Shortest food lines of the whole day.

2:30Classical

Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Odissi. Sit close.

4:00Music + bazaar

Live ragas on stage, sarees and henna on the floor.

7:00Folk + bhangra

The loudest hour. The floor fills up.

9:30Dance party

Classical early, Bollywood late

Classical dance and live music sit in the afternoon, when the room is calmer and you can actually see the footwork. Folk, bhangra, the headliner and the Bollywood dance party take over from 7 pm on Saturday, when the whole floor becomes the stage. If you only have two hours, make them 7 pm to 9 pm.

Bring the kids on Sunday

Sunday opens with a dance-along, henna and face painting, the rickshaw rides are shorter to queue for, and it closes with every performer back on stage for the finale. It is the easiest day for strollers and grandparents.
